I grew up eating boiled peanuts and remember the hours my family spent sitting around the table at holiday's eating boiled peanuts and just talking and sharing. But when I moved North, it was harder to get peanuts and boil them. When I found Boil-The-Bag Boiled Peanuts I was skeptical at first, but once I cooked them in my crockpot, I was transported back to years ago sitting around that family table and enjoying those peanuts. I grew up in the Philippines and eating boiled peanuts as a snacks is normal to us. So I was expecting something special with your boiled in a bag peanuts but this is just another peanuts inside a bag to keep it intact while boiling... nothing special. Sorry, but I wasn't impressed! It's cheaper to buy it from the store and cook the way we cook it.

I was under the impression that by seasoned that meant the nuts would be salty. There were just plain, unseasoned boiled peanuts. They were good but I've never had boiled peanuts that weren't at least a little bit salty. I'll add salt to the water for my next batch.

have tried to buy non-roasted peanuts from local candy store; can't get fresh green/raw peanuts to Michigan. These were much easier to process and seasonings were spot on. I absolutely love boil the bag peanuts! It was so satisfying to boil my own peanuts and so much cheaper to do it ourselves. I love the seasonings (we got the Cajun peanuts). When I buy boiled peanuts from vendors I always wonder how many flies may have gotten in the pot. Boiling them this way I know exactly how they're being cooked. My Spouse is from the South, I'm not. But one of the best things I ever learned from this marriage was the existence of boiled peanuts 24 years ago. Every trip to visit family in Georgia one of my first stops is to get some from the store - the canned ones are good but not great. She always talked about fresh boiled from the roadside. I think these are about as close as it gets to that. I made the first bag a few days ago and the result was astonishingly delicious - and with almost no rotten ones too. I will have to space out my purchases as I can't gain too much weight - but we'll be back.

I have found that the peanuts need about 4 1/2 to 5 hours in my pressure pot. I also prefer two spice bags per sack of peanuts. I just ask when my order is placed and the staff pack them in my box!!! Good peanuts for snacking, or sharing with a friend. I like to pre order system. If you need to delay or postpone a shipment it always fine. Sometimes i get behind and just want to skip a shipment. That is OK also!!! Try them!!! I think you will like them!!!!

I've spent all but two years of my life living in the south so boiled peanuts have been a staple in my life as long as I can remember. Since most convenience stores have stopped selling them, local entrepreneurs have set up roadside stands on some of the two-lane highways and they sell fresh boiled peanuts in paper bags. My mom used to make them on the stovetop as well, but I've never done that myself since it's an all day (or even multi-day) process and I work full time. I just ordered my first bags from Boil-The-Bag and holy crap.....these taste EXACTLY like the ones you buy from the guy on the side of the road with his giant pot over a gas burner. Juicy, salty, and perfectly tender! My husband and I devoured our first bag in a few days and I'm super happy I sprung for the 4-bag set, lol. We will definitely be ordering again!

I grew up getting boiled peanuts at corner stands in central Florida and they slowly disappeared. I found the boil the bag and was interested but skeptical.
