Boiled peanuts were a treat for me and my siblings when we were kids. My Father grew up as the son of sharecroppers who were peanut farmers. When we would visit our Florida relatives, the first stop we would make was to buy boiled peanuts! I live in the Midwest and getting access to boiled peanuts is not readily available as it is in the south. A friend of mine introduced me to these and I was so excited that I could make my own. They could not have made this easier to make. Just a few things that I would like to mention. I opted to make mine in my slow cooker. My slow cooker could not accommodate a full gallon of water and the bag of peanuts so I just filled it as much as it could go and cooked that way and still had good results. The other thing is my household is just two adults so the size of the bags are pretty large for that small of a family. I realize that you can continue to snack on them after cooking but I might suggest smaller bags for smaller families. Flavor is fantastic for the original. I haven't cooked the garlic flavored ones yet.

Since I don’t own a slow cooker or insta pot I made them the old fashioned way. Cooked for eight hours in a stock pot on day one, left them overnight in the water on the stove and cooked for four hours the next morning. They are delicious, we love them. Reminded me of my childhood!
